This is a stretching guide for Web Designer magazine issue 166. Seeing as I’m on the computer practically 24/7, I wonder if I’m the only one suffering from computer-induced shoulder, neck and back cramps (highly unlikely). So I researched “deskercise” routines that benefit heavy computer users and illustrated a guide to reduce computer-related muscle stress. Web programmers, designers, illustrators, I’m looking at you :)
I’ve started to make a regular routine out of these exercises. At first it felt like a nuisance but over time, the benefits settled in. I feel more limber at the end of the day and not as tired. The key is to take 5 – 10 minute breaks away from the computer every hour or half-hour if you’re extra keen. Take this time to stretch and rest your eyes. This will keep you in tip-top shape for the new year!
