It’s been awhile but I’m back! Here’s the latest tutorial for Web Designer magazine issue 176 (UK). I was asked to show how to create a fetching iPhone app icon with candy-colours in a web 2.0 look. Naturally I turned to dessert for inspiration, it never fails!

Street Art Blog Tutorial

This is the latest tutorial commissioned by UK magazine Web Designer (issue 175). I was asked to bring street art / graffiti style to a (faux) youth community website. Verging off a recent visit to a spectacular Keith Haring exhibit, I paid homage to one of the finest street artists. Fun strokes, bold lines and bright colours reminiscent of his style was sure fun to recreate. And of course, I threw in a Michael Jackson mention! See if you can find it…

90′s Grunge Banner Tutorial

New tutorial on creating a 90′s grunge style web banner for UK magazine Web Designer issue 173. I channeled album designs of alternative bands from my teen days, scoured the neighborhood ravine for cool photos and went to town in good ol’ Photoshop. And yes, those are my feet and strappy sandals!

Social Media Web Design Tutorial

Since I did the dessert blog tutorial for Advanced Photoshop magazine, it’s caught the eye of Web Designer magazine. They also wanted a crafty design for their latest tutorial in the theme of social media. Here I mix in Japanese paper (a fave of mine) with good ol’ trusty Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. This would be my take on Twitter if it were decked out in a funky outfit, hehe.

The last month has kept me busy! This is a brand new tutorial created for UK magazine Advanced Photoshop issue 65 (sister mag of Photoshop Creative and Web Designer).

This tutorial called for a scrapbook-inspired blog design, so of course I based it on one of my fave topics: dessert! Doodles of frilly cupcake paper and sprinkles topped with a candy cane border added the finishing touch. Mmm what I would give for some creme brulee right now…

Hello, hello! Here is the latest tutorial I did for UK magazine Web Designer issue 161. This one focuses on creating a web template from typography and graphic elements. Veering from that, I went with the theme of a club poster promoting a fantastical party. Woo!

Hi! This is my latest tutorial appearing in UK magazine Web Designer. This time around, neon colours, fun doodles and patterns adorn the template in true 80′s retro style. What fun! As a child of the 80s, it’s definitely one of my favourite eras, if not the best. Totally rad!!

Newspaper Headings

Hello! Just wanted to tell you about the latest Web Designer magazine, issue 157 (that’s the cover up top) :)

This month, I cover how to create web headers inspired by newspaper styles like a financial newspaper, retro broadsheet and trashy tabloids. As always, it was fun coming up with the tutorials and this time, I got to “invent” my own news, which made it extra fun! Perhaps I can moonlight as a news reporter / journalist documenting fictitious news?
