Fashion Journal: Cuba Outfit 1

First post of 2012! Sorry for the lack of posts lately, been occupied with celebrating the holidays, new year, and a wonderful vacation to beautiful Varadero, Cuba. I attended a friend’s wedding and the sun, beach, music, friends and food filled my desire for a blissful retreat perfectly. It was my third visit to Cuba and I’m sure there will be many more!

It was especially fun to plan a week-long wardrobe for a tropical getaway, so I decided to do some stylish revamps! Like my Fashion Journal series, I took elements from the original outfit – colour, pattern, design, etc – and reinterpreted it my way for a second version.

Original outfit: I’m wearing a loose-fitting red Hawaiian shirt (which always puts me in a good mood), high-waisted black shorts, flip flops and a small purse knitted by my grandmother.

Reinterpretation: The red Hawaiian print is so lovely I turned it into a maxi dress, one of my favourite summer pieces. If I attend another beach wedding I would love to wear something like this!

China 2010!

What a great trip China was! I went to visit Chongqing (my hometown), Xi’an, Chengdu, and Beijing. Lots of yummy food, great scenery and incredible historic sites. I want to back again already!

Cuba!

2010 got off to a fantastic start as I spent an unforgettable week visiting friends in Matanzas, Cuba. Pina Coladas, Mojitos and papa fritas, mmm! This was definitely a journey in food as well as seeing nature and good times with friendly locals.

I recently embarked on an amazing vacation to Cancun, Mexico. Oh how I miss the warmth, sand, gentle waves, snorkeling, Mexican food (mmm refried beans) and energy!
