Photos: Sketching at Boobyball 2011
The lovely Ainsley Kerr of Rethink Breast Cancer (whose portrait I sketched at TIFF last month) kindly invited me to sketch portraits of guests at Boobyball Toronto. It’s an annual fundraiser gala for breast cancer awareness and this year marks the charity’s 10th anniversary. With the theme of “a 10-year-old’s birthday party”, everything was pretty [...]

Photos: Sketching at Epique Lounge
Above: He asked me to draw lipstick marks all over! Wish I had thought of it. I’ve been doing lots of on-site portrait sketching gigs lately! These are the latest from Saturday, September 24 at Epique Lounge in Yorkville, Toronto. I was (gladly) hired last minute to sketch at a private birthday function. It was [...]

Photos: Sketching at Shop Til You Drop 2011
What a night it was sketching at LOULOU magazine’s Shop ‘Til You Drop 2011! I was at Banana Republic (Yorkville location) in Toronto drawing portraits of shoppers as part of an in-store flash sale event. I literally didn’t rest for a second save for one washroom jaunt as there were non-stop line ups around the [...]

Sketching at LOULOU Shop Til You Drop 2011
September must be the month of fashion because I have another upcoming on-site sketching gig. This time it’s for LOULOU magazine’s Shop ‘Til You Drop 2011, a shopping extravaganza with over 40 retail partners! Fall is a great time for wardrobe updating, perhaps I should reassess my throng of skirts and add more pants into [...]

Photos: Sketching at TIFF 2011
Wow! Still can’t believe I was invited to do portrait sketches at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. I was part of the Premiere Gift Lounge at the Hazelton Hotel from Sept 10 – 11 where celebs and VIP’s came and got their swag on. And when they were done, they had a quick sit [...]

Photos: Sketching at The Bay Sept 2011
My third time doing on-site fashion sketching at The Bay! This time it was to promote the new La Perla fragrance Divina. Above is a table with the perfume and a sketch I did inspired by the floral, pink and sweet scent. There were also lots of other in-store events like crepe and pretzel stations, [...]
Photos: TCAF 2011
It was a blast drawing for kids at TCAF this past Sunday! I was a guest illustrator on behalf of Owlkids and one can never predict the wonderfully wacky ideas kids want to see on paper. It was a delight drawing flying pies, dragons with aliens and puppies with wings. Gotta say, it doesn’t get [...]

Photos: Ladies First! at The Bay
My second appearance at The Bay did not disappoint! This time, I sketched portraits of shoppers in the theme of royal wedding and all-things-British at the Bloor and Yonge location in Toronto. I made sure to include plenty of bows, headdresses, teacups and the quintessential English icon: the Union Jack.
La Roux: Very Rough Sketch
Hi kids, do you like La Roux? Because I do! Which is why I’m basing my next series off some of my favourite musicians, and La Roux ranks right up there in the top. Above is a very rough sketch – more of a doodle, really – I came up with while waiting at the [...]
