You didn’t think that was all for Shoe Love, did ya? Well it’s a two-parter! Yes, I realized I liked the background so much I turned it into a pattern on its own. Now it feels like I’m diving into a world of fabulous footwear!

Woot, “Shoe Love” is now complete! It was a fantastic journey in fantasy land as I indulged in illustrating oxfords, heels, wedges, sandals, peep toes, and boots – oh my! Here’s a look at the final and a close-up. Love using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop together, I experimented quite a bit and this is the end result.

At last, my new promo “Girls’ Night Out” is finished! It was created as a campaign for the young female / fashion demographic. It’s inspired by personal events from a fun-filled girls’ night out I had. The promo shows highlights of the night including primping, posing for photos and dancing while looking fabulous. Really enjoyed this as I got to indulge my fashionable side!

Ra ra rrroma-ma! Here’s a drawing I did for my friend Liz at TCAF on Saturday. She asked for a monster so I immediately thought of Lady Gaga, hence her album “The Fame Monster”. Plus she calls all her fans “little monsters”. I know this because I’m one of them!

Liz was ecstatic at how I captured Gaga’s nose. The flame in the background was her idea.

Oh and I was listening to Michael Jackson when I drew this and there are some homages to him. Can anyone spot them?

Let’s catch up now, starting with this new tutorial for UK magazine Advanced Photoshop issue 67. I was asked to create a photo-illustration in an energetic style using bright colours and modern elements. The photo was supplied from istockphoto. Since the model’s pose is air-borne and full of energy, I off-set her boldness with some soft illustrations. Romantic swirls and flowers add a feminine touch. Makes me think of spring…

The inspiration comes from the irresistible beauty of lingerie combined with a dream-like backdrop, which creates an insatiable feeling of luxury and soft femininity. Pure bliss…

My second tutorial commission for UK magazine Photoshop Creative. This time, I was asked to combine texture, fabric, photos and drawings to create a scrapbook-style collage illustration. All done from beginning to end in Photoshop!

I drew inspiration from the sound and aesthetics of New Zealand indie songstress Ladyhawke. Her 80’s infused hits are so infectious and groovy, it made me channel swinging plaid, tie-dye and a cheesy backdrop. Oh yes, I’m tres hip.

Oh my, clothing stores sure are filled with sales galore this time of year. It gets overwhelming to be in one for too long as I’m too weak when it comes to fashion indulgences. So, I opted to draw my favourite fashion finds instead. Nothing too fancy, just some quick sketching followed with colour experimentation in Photoshop.
